Featured ItemsSigned Publicity Still From 1970 Movie
Do you remember Eli Wallach? He made a zillion movies and worked right up until the end of his long life. He was married to the beautiful and equally talented Anne Jackson for something like 60 years. Mr. Wallach was a real winner in the game of life. Rue was friends with the couple for many decades. She and Mr. Wallach worked together for the first time in 1970 when they made the movie “The People Next Door.” Rue wrote about the movie, and one of her hilarious lines from the script, in her memoir – “My First Five Husband…And The Ones Who Got Away” – and this original 8″ x 10″ signed publicity shot was reprinted in the book. In fact, the publishers sticker is still on the back of this picture. Rue’s signed publicity still – signed by both Rue and Eli Wallach – comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$375 NOW $187.50Rue's Liz Claiborne Long-Billed Cap
Rue truly regretted all the sun damage she inflicted on her skin when she was a girl and young lady, and so she made certain to protect herself from the harmful rays of the sun as she aged. This Liz Claiborne cap was one of her protection tools because it has a super long bill. It had the added benefit of hiding her face when she wanted to run out for a quick errand and go around her Manhattan neighborhood unrecognized. Rue’s hat comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$175 NOW $87.50Personalize Signed 8" x 10" Memoir Cover Shot - "To Joseph" [SOLD]
Why Rue never sent this personalized, signed photograph to whoever this Joseph was, we’ll never know. Perhaps she didn’t like the signature, but she never threw it out. We found this in her desk. Certainly there is a Joseph out there that you know, or perhaps you are one yourself, who is a Rue McClanahan fan. This is very likely the only way you’ll ever get an original, personalized, signed picture of Rue. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$99Rue's Mini Avon Breast Cancer Awareness Pin
I think I’ve told you this story before: I remember when Rue told me about her battle with breast cancer. It was a beautiful spring evening and we were riding in the back of a limousine through Central Park. She told me about the fear when she was first told the news, how she almost fainted, and about the horrors of treatment. However, the story had a happy ending because Rue McClanahan beat breast cancer and was alive to sit in the back of that limo with me and enjoy the gorgeous spring foliage in Central Park. Rue gave a lot of herself to support breast cancer awareness, early diagnosis, and support for the victims of the wretched disease. This is a mini-pin that Rue used to wear on her lapel. The pink ribbon was made by Avon and it measures one inch long. Rue’s breast cancer awareness pin comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$175 NOW $87.50Bea's Personalized Gift to her Friend Rue in the '70s [SOLD]
Rue McClanahan and Bea Arthur were friends, real friends. I was with Rue the day that Bea died and she was reminiscing about their relationship – with “Maude” and “The Golden Girls” they had worked together for 14 years – and there was a lot of emotion in the stories she told. I also attended Bea’s Memorial Service with Rue, and I can assure you Rue loved Bea. Clearly, the feelings were reciprocated. You can see it in their off camera photos together and you can see it in this gift that Bea had custom made for her friend way back during the “Maude” years in the 1970s. This heavy 13.5″ square mirrored plaque demonstrates Bea’s respect and admiration for Rue’s abilities as an actor with the star symbol next to her name and the word “Superstar,” but it also show Bea’s feelings for Rue with the phrase “Superlove.” We realize this is a high price point for an item on the site, but we believe the piece – a personal one-of-a-kind gift from one Internationally famous celebrity to another – is actually priceless. We want to make sure if someone does buy it, they realize its worth and it will be taken care of accordingly. And, if it doesn’t sell, we’re fine with that, too. It looks really good right here on the office wall and you can’t help but smile every time you look at it.
$5,000Where Are We Going In Rue's Handbasket?
Rue actually used her hand basket as a hand basket, who does that? She would carry it into her garden and come back inside with the basket full of tomatoes she picked off her plants. Rue’s hand basket measures 12″ x 9″ and it is 10.5″ high. The piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
