Rue had a big heart and would not say no to any person or animal in need. She gave a lot of money to animal charities, environmental concerns, different disease research campaigns, and a bunch of other causes over the years. She also gave a lot of her time by showing up at events, and a lot of her possessions to be auctioned for thousands and thousands of dollars. As a result of this consistent largesse – and seriously, she did it in the most humble manner – Rue received memberships in all of these organizations year after year and her wallet overflows with cards. Here are two such cards – one to keep and one to give as a gift to that special “Golden Girls” fan in your life – the first is from The National Humane Education Society, and the second from America’s Second Harvest. The former is a plastic card, measures 2 1/8” x 3 3/8”, and has Rue’s name printed on the front in raised gold type; and the later is paper, has the same measurements, is printed with Rue’s name, and indicates that she had given 160 bags of groceries. Comes with 2 computer printed head shots of Rue, one from the late-90’s and the other from her book cover in the mid-2000’s.
