Featured ItemsGift from Bea Arthur [SOLD]
This is a very difficult piece to let go of because it was one of Rue’s prized possessions, but Rue’s son intends to follow his Mother’s final wishes and make ALL of her personal property available to her fans – except family items of sentimental value that he selected. Bea Arthur had this sterling silver and 14kt gold pin custom made for her friend Rue McClanahan way back during the “Maude” years. Both their friendship and their working relationship continued for many more years – the friendship until Bea died, in fact – and there were many more gifts exchanged during that time, but Rue said this was the one she cherished most. There was something about a talented, professional like Bea recognizing and setting down in silver and gold that she thought Rue was a star that really touched Rue’s heart. The pin measures 1″ x 1.5″. We’ll include prints of some of Rue’s personal photos showing the two ladies together and a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$2,000Rue's Sexy Heart Anklet [SOLD]
Although we don’t think this is made of any “precious metal,” it is still precious because Rue owned and wore it on her tiny ankle. The chain is 9″ long and the little heart is about .25″ across. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$41.14Rue's Carved Maori Box Given To Her By Her Son Mark
Like most mothers, Rue always thought of her son as a little boy. Also, like most mothers, no matter what her son gave to her – crayon drawings, pipe cleaner sculpture, macaroni necklaces, etc… – she adored and kept forever. Sometimes her boy hit the ball out of the park though and gave her something she not only adored as a mother, but also as Rue McClanahan, world class shopper and collector. This vintage carved Maori box with paua shell inserts is just such an item. Rue genuinely loved this piece. When a big earthquake hit the Los Angeles area in the late ’80s, this piece flew off of Rue’s dresser in her adorable Encino house (photo posted) and a little corner of wood popped off. Rue said she looked for that little piece for days but never found it; she figured one of her cats or dogs thought it was a bit of kibble and probably ate it. Nevertheless, she displayed this piece in her various homes for the rest of her life, and when asked its origin, she’d proudly say: “That was a gift from my son.” Rue’s carved Maori box comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$375Rue's Bathroom Keychain From Production of "Oklahoma!"
Every production has a different budget, and that budget will determine the quality of the cast and crew perks. As opposed to the Tiffany & Co. engraved sterling silver keychain Rue received for “Six Dance Lessons…” – posted above – when she did a production of “Oklahoma!” she received a plastic keychain with the name of the character she was playing on it. Rue attached a elastic band to be worn around one’s wrist and then attached the bathroom key to it so she wouldn’t loose it or forget it inside. She even wrote a note on the back to warn people looking for a memento of their own not to take it! Rue’s “Aunt Eller” keychain comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$175 NOW $87.50Signed Jazz Program From Event Rue and Bea Hosted
This piece probably won’t appeal to everyone, but to the fan of jazz, this piece is going to be AMAZING! First of all, how bizarre is it that Rue McClanahan and Bea Arthur hosted this jazz event at all? If you knew Rue though, you’d know she was a huge fan of jazz from the very beginning. She and her best friend, later her second husband, Norman, were jazz nuts. Rue’s son, Mark, is a jazz guitarist to this day. Can you see the paintings Rue had hanging around her Manhattan apartment? They are lots of jazz greats, and Rue didn’t buy those works of art, she had them commissioned directly from the artist! Anyway, this event had a lot of jazz greats in person, and many of them signed Rue’s program. And although she did not sign her name, we think that note on the back, which reads: “To My Dear Rue, Thank you!!!” was from Bea Arthur. Rue was the one that convinced her to do it, and Bea ended up having a fabulous time and falling hard for jazz. We haven’t found anything public about this event, either, so this is a rare document from what was certainly an unbelievable gathering of musical and acting talent. This originally signed piece of jazz and television history comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.

It is framed in an vintage tin or some other light metal frame, and it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
