The jeweler who examined this vintage gold-filled necklace exclaimed that it was an “exquisite” piece, and this guy owns a shop on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, so he isn’t easily impressed. The piece is old. The 7 cabochon amethysts measure almost 1/2″ x 1/4″, and the stone dangling on the end is 1.5″ long and 1/4″ wide at its widest. The clasp is broken, but Rue used a small safety pin and wore it anyway. The chain measures 20″ long, 10″ on each side, and the entire pendant chain with stones is an additional 4.25″. The piece weighs .4 ounces and it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
