Deep Red Garnet [SOLD]
Every gal ought to have a little faux alligator case filled with loose gemstones like Rue did. She bought fine stones whenever she came across them and then would have them set in custom pieces over the years. Here is one of her deep red garnets; the perfect rock to buy someone special (or yourself – your special!) and maybe have made into a piece you design some day. It measures 7/16″ long by just over .25″ wide. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.

Rue's Boxed Set of Quotation Books
Rue read a lot of biographies and autobiographies. She had a passion for the life stories of America’s founding fathers and early statesmen. Rue was patriotic and found the commitment to the vision for America held by those early politicians inspiring. This boxed set has four thin volumes and they contain some of the most well-known and inspirational quotes from four of those early Americans. Each volume has one of Rue’s bookplates inside, so there are four different stickers. The case and books measure about 4.5″ x 7″ and they will all appear on one Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.

Rue's Swinging '60s Purple Hoop Earrings
Aren’t these cool? The earrings dangle a full 2.25″, and the hoops themselves are 1.25″ across and .50″ thick. These are just such quintessential ’60s earrings, right? They are made of some resin and, as you can see, are translucent so the light pours through and makes them glow. Rue’s swinging ’60s dangling hoops come with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.

Signed Jazz Program From Event Rue and Bea Hosted
This piece probably won’t appeal to everyone, but to the fan of jazz, this piece is going to be AMAZING! First of all, how bizarre is it that Rue McClanahan and Bea Arthur hosted this jazz event at all? If you knew Rue though, you’d know she was a huge fan of jazz from the very beginning. She and her best friend, later her second husband, Norman, were jazz nuts. Rue’s son, Mark, is a jazz guitarist to this day. Can you see the paintings Rue had hanging around her Manhattan apartment? They are lots of jazz greats, and Rue didn’t buy those works of art, she had them commissioned directly from the artist! Anyway, this event had a lot of jazz greats in person, and many of them signed Rue’s program. And although she did not sign her name, we think that note on the back, which reads: “To My Dear Rue, Thank you!!!” was from Bea Arthur. Rue was the one that convinced her to do it, and Bea ended up having a fabulous time and falling hard for jazz. We haven’t found anything public about this event, either, so this is a rare document from what was certainly an unbelievable gathering of musical and acting talent. This originally signed piece of jazz and television history comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.

Rue's Cat-Peeking-Over-Shelf Piece
We always look for pictures of Rue with the items that we post, and we were thrilled when we found this little cat statue in PERFECT photographs because the cat is peeking in on the edge or at the top of the frame. What a hoot! The porcelain piece measures 9.5″ deep, it is 4.25″ wide and 4.5″ high. Rue’s peeking cat comes with prints of the photos posted and a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.

Rue's Depression Era Footed Mini Pedestal
Rue owned a few mini-display platters, and there was no better feeling than walking into her Manhattan apartment and seeing one of them out on the sideboard or on the kitchen counter with a little treat waiting for you. Rue loved to bake and I can’t tell you the number of cupcakes that waited for me on this little platter over the years. This small piece is ideal for that single cupcake or a slice of warm banana bread, a wedge of cake, etc…. It measures 5.75″ across and stands 1.5″ high. It appears to be cut glass with a silver plated base. Rue’s Depression Era mini-display platter comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
