Rue collected valuable crystal perfume bottles, which we know absolutely nothing about. When she bought this piece 25 years ago it was $695.00, as evidenced from the insurance photos we found in her files. She was told it was French St. Louis glass, but someone who is quite knowledgeable about these things believes it is unsigned Baccarat and similar pieces can be found in a book about the same. All agree it is from the late 1800s or very early 1900s and is in very good condition. It measures 7.5″ tall and the base is 2.75″ across. The plunger ball is cracked – it was when she bought it – and the hose is hanging on, literally, by a thread. We might be giving away the farm here, but we’re going to let it go at what might be a substantial discount with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
