A perfect example of Rue dressing up visitors from her closets; here she is with her sister Melinda going for a high glam look in the late ’80s. The hat was made by Whitehall & Javits, Rue bought it at Macy’s, and it still has the original price tag and manufacturer’s tag attached. The piece measures about 8″ x 7″ and it made of some stiff cloth and velvet with a hard stone set in front. Even though it is about 25 years old, it is in pristine condition because Rue stored it in a proper hat box. This item comes in one of Rue’s gauzy material hat boxes, with a copy of the photo of her wearing it, and a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
