Isaac Mizrahi Couture Gown and Dress Jacket from “The Women” [SOLD]

Isaac Mizrahi designed and made Rue’s costumes when she played the Countess de Lage in the Broadway production of “The Women.” In fact, Mr. Mizrahi won that year’s Drama Desk Award for “Outstanding Costume Design.” In fact again, Rue was the host of that year’s Drama Desk Awards, presented the award, and then accepted it on his behalf since the designer did not attend. Anyway, this is a true couture gown and dress coat with a triple provenance: 1. Made by a famous, award-winning designer; 2. Worn on stage in a hit Broadway show; 3. Worn and owned by a beloved Internationally famous Icon – Rue McClanahan. Of course the piece is priceless, but there is no button for “priceless” on PayPal, so we had to come up with a number. The numbers we’ve seen for couture gowns (without all these unique characteristics) make this look like quite a bargain, too. We’re including a somewhat grainy computer playable DVD of a VHS conversion that taped a performance of “The Women” on the Broadway stage (with Rue wearing these pieces), and we’re including the same of the clip of Rue presenting and accepting Mr. Mizrahi’s award, and the costume comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
