Featured ItemsRue's Big Brass Heart Cuff [SOLD]
This brass and enamel cuff has hearts painted on it and so it made the cut for Valentine’s Day. There is a small chip in the red enamel where Rue took a dive late one night – we’re not talking – but otherwise it is in solid shape. It measures 2.5″ across, but since it is a cuff you can open or close it as you wish. It is almost 2″ high at it’s center point and weighs 1.8 ounces. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$114.14Pink Beaded Bracelet with a Heart-Shaped Clasp [SOLD]
Doesn’t Rue look great in this ad? We can’t tell for sure it this is one of the pink beaded bracelets Rue is wearing in this ad, we thought it might be the top one, but no matter, it was definitely one in her collection and we liked the picture so much we wanted to post it. The bracelet weighs .5 ounces and measures 7.5″ long. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$114.14An Early "Doodle" From Rue's Collection
This is a very early “doodle” from Rue’s collection. You can see many of the design features and shapes that she would use over and over throughout the years in this early piece, and there is a definite joy to the drawing that remained constant all the way through her “doodling” career. This original drawing is 9″ x 12″ and it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$950 NOW $475Rue's 1976 Playbill From "A Chorus Line" (And a Story)
“A Chorus Line” opened on Broadway in 1975, and by 1976 it was already touring. It held the record for longest running Broadway Show for over 20-years. Rue was in “Maude” at the time and living in Los Angeles so she had to wait to see it until it opened there. Luckily, some of the original Cast transferred from Broadway to the Los Angles production and so Rue was able to see “A Chorus Line” with Donna McKechnie in the role that made her famous – “Cassie.” Rue could spot talent, so after the performance she went back stage and made a beeline for Ms. McKechnie. With Rue’s dance and acting backgrounds, she knew that Ms. McKechnie was the real thing. Donna McKechnie jotted her number down for Rue on the front of her Playbill and here it is – 40 YEARS LATER! This piece of Rue McClanahan and Donna McKechnie and Broadway history comes with prints of the photos shown and a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
By the way, I was recently at an event here in Manhattan and ran into Donna McKechnie – see the photo posted. She looks great, right?
$150Rue's Hat From Bay Street Theatre
In 1998, Rue went to Sag Harbor and did a show at the Bay Street Theatre. It was entitled “House,” directed by Joe Mantello, and co-starred Richard Dreyfuss and Marsha Mason. Rue was given this hat by the Theatre manager and she wore it for years after. In fact, she wore it to an anti-veal event and attached the pin you see in the photos. This is a nice hat with solid construction and even a leather strap. Rue’s Bay Street Theatre cap comes with her anti-veal pin still attached and a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
