Featured ItemsFormal Portrait of Rue, Her Little Sister, and Mother
This formal portrait was taken of Rue, her little sister Melinda, and her mother back in 1944. Rue told me that her grandmother made their matching dresses; obviously that is where both Rue and her sister got their sewing talent, because those dresses are beautiful. Although people are always raving about digital photography, we think these old black and whites from film are crisper than anything around today. Rue’s original 8.75″ x 6.5″ portrait from 1944 comes with a certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$375 NOW $187.50Framed Poster From One Of Rue's Early Theatrical Projects
We don’t know what year Rue was in this show. I have an idea: let’s call the theatre and see if they know; maybe they will even have some photos. Okay, I called and spoke with a nice young lady who put me in touch with the playhouse historian. I just sent her an email and we’ll see what she comes up with. In the meantime, this framed poster of Rue’s measures 27″ x 19″. It is old and there is some wrinkling and discoloration. I wonder just how old it is? We’ll see. Rue’s framed poster from “The Price” comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$250Rue's Etched Sterling Silver Ear Cuff (Not a Nose Ring, Right?)
This can’t be a nose ring, right? I mean, none of us ever saw Rue wear a nose ring, so it must be an ear cuff, right? Yet, it sure does LOOK like a nose ring, right? But why on Earth would Rue McClanahan own a nose ring? Unless she bought it by mistake; sometimes even world class shoppers stumble. Not that anything is WRONG with nose rings; they just aren’t Rue’s style. Anyway, this beautiful sterling silver piece is hand etched with what Rue would call a “sweet” and “precious” little floral motif. If you purchase this item be sure and send us in a photo if you happen to wear it in your nose so we can put it in Rue’s permanent archive, because this would certainly be the only nose ring she owned (but it CAN’T be a nose ring, right?). Rue’s etched, sterling silver thing comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$175 NOW $87.50Rue's Large Painted Canvas Pillow
This is another fabulous piece that came from the renovation of Rue’s Encino, California home – when she was spending money like a Rockefeller! Do you know she actually spent over $1,000,000 on her yard alone! And this was almost 30-years ago (Oh, Rue!). Anyway, she did pick up some really amazing possessions during those crazy years, and this 19″, hand-painted canvas pillow is one of them. The piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$275Rue's Framed Vincent van Gogh Lithograph
This print is entitled “Cafe Terrace at Night” and it was painted by Vincent van Gogh. We have no idea what this framed print is worth. Rue bought it along with a Latrec lithograph at a gallery in Manhattan, but it is still just a print, right? Although the Latrec print, because it was signed, was recently valued at $6,000, so who knows? Anyway, this piece hung in the rental Rue moved into when she first moved back to Manhattan – she needed some art to cheer the place up and that was why she visited the gallery and bought the two pieces. Later, it went with her to both Manhattan apartments she owned and it hung in the main hallway of her final apartment until her death. The piece measures 32″ x 26.25″ and it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
