The World Wildlife Fund – one of the beneficiaries of Rue’s Will – gave this stuffed animal to her way back in 1985. Rue had it in her California homes and then moved it to her Manhattan apartment in the late ’90s. Rue adored this lemur for 25 years. (What did you think it was? A raccoon?) It was usually somewhere in the living room. If you look at a few of the photos we pulled, you can see it in the background, either on the top of the couch or hanging from a lamp. We also found a magazine article about Rue from the late ’80s/early ’90s and look what is sitting inside the tree in the foyer of her Encino, California house – that’s right, the lemur. (We actually did think it was a raccoon until a kind fan from up North straightened us out – oh, the shame of it all!) The lemur is about a foot high and 8″ wide, it measures 29″ from the tip of the tail to the head. This item comes with prints of the photos shown and a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
