Featured ItemsMounted Early Interview Photo of Rue [On Hold]
Part of Rue’s job as a successful actress involved giving interviews to the press in order to promote the projects she was involved with. Rue’s name started to appear in the local newspaper when she was a girl, and she started to appear in articles that included reviews of her work by the time she was in college. However, when Rue got the role of Bea Arthur’s neighbor in “Maude” everything went to a whole new level and the national media started to pay attention to her – it was an exciting time in her life. Here is an 11″ x 14″ piece that has a mounted color photograph of Rue from an early interview. We think she looks very 1970s and chic with her cool sunglasses. This singular vintage piece from Rue’s personal professional memorabilia collection comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.

Rue actually used her hand basket as a hand basket, who does that? She would carry it into her garden and come back inside with the basket full of tomatoes she picked off her plants. Rue’s hand basket measures 12″ x 9″ and it is 10.5″ high. The piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$225 NOW $112.50Gold Cowboy Hat [SOLD]
Rue wore this shiny golden cowboy hat in a movie she made in 1998 with Hal Holbrook entitled “Rusty – The Great Rescue.” Whatever fiber the hat is made of, they coated it with something to make it solid. It is lightweight and the wardrobe person sewed in a 1.5″ thick soft band so it is comfortable to wear. It measures 14.5″ in length with the opening being 7.75″. It is 12.75″ wide and stands 5.25″ high. This hat comes with a print of the picture of Rue and Hal from the film and a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$175Rue's Peter Max Hat [On Hold]
Part of Rue’s job involved showing up at big network events, so she hit the red carpet for the CBS 75th Birthday Celebration held in New York City in the early 2000s. One of the gifts presented to the celebrities that attended was this special piece of memorabilia – a hat designed by the world-famous artist Peter Max. Rue’s Peter Max hat comes with prints of the photos posted – Rue with Peter Max in his studio, and one of her on the red carpet from the night of the party – and a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$375 NOW $187.50NOW $80! Rue's Dramatic Black Hat with Hat Box [SOLD]
One glance will tell you that this hat of Rue’s was definitely for some role she played – it is just too dramatic! Even if the tulle netting, ostrich feather, and sequins didn’t convince you, then certainly the double-stick tape and foam insert put in there so the hat would stay firmly on her head would do the trick – this hat is from a project, we just don’t know which one. Therefore, this “Sonni of San Fransisco” number is being listed as one of Rue’s personal hats from her closet. The entire piece is about 10″ across and about 8″ high, but it is malleable and so those measurements can change. The firm woven part is about 7″ x 6″ and it has a double row of sequins inside the brim. Because of the big feather, Rue kept the hat in a solid hat box – 12″ x 4.5″ – and we’ll include the box with the hat. Also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
$275 NOW $80!Rue's 1985 LA Weekly LAWEE Award [On Hold]
Did you know that after 35-years LA Weekly has stopped the LAWEE Awards this year? Rue received her LAWEE Award 30 years ago in 1985 for a performance she gave in a play entitled “In The Sweet Bye and Bye.” Interestingly, while Rue was in this production, a pilot she had done for NBC was picked up for a whole season. That pilot was “The Golden Girls!” That meant Rue was working at NBC taping this new show during the day, and then she was going on stage in the evenings with this theatrical production. The play was doing well and it ended up extending – in no small part because of Rue’s stellar performance – and the new show for NBC took off, too. Rue had two hits on her hands. Rue’s LAWEE Award comes with prints of the images shown and a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
