Rue and the artist of this beautiful watercolor were friends for almost 40-years – they met when they both worked together on the 1971 film “Some of My Best Friends Are.” I just got off the telephone with him – confirming this was, in fact, his painting – and we ended up sharing Rue stories for almost an hour. I am going to go to his house with a camera and capture some of his memories for the documentary we are working on about Rue. But, I digress, back to the reason we are here. This original watercolor measures 11″ x 14″ and with the old barn wood frame it is 14.5″ x 17.25″. We found a picture of Rue’s sixth husband with this piece in the background, but haven’t found one of Rue with the piece, yet – we’re still looking. The husband didn’t last, but the painting did. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
