Featured ItemsRue's Hat From Bay Street Theatre
In 1998, Rue went to Sag Harbor and did a show at the Bay Street Theatre. It was entitled “House,” directed by Joe Mantello, and co-starred Richard Dreyfuss and Marsha Mason. Rue was given this hat by the Theatre manager and she wore it for years after. In fact, she wore it to an anti-veal event and attached the pin you see in the photos. This is a nice hat with solid construction and even a leather strap. Rue’s Bay Street Theatre cap comes with her anti-veal pin still attached and a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.

Rue McClanahan was a VERY politically active person. Boy oh boy would she have a lot to say about this election coming up! Rue did her homework and read a lot. She particularly enjoyed biographies and autobiographies about and by political figures. Here is one of the hardbound FIRST EDITION books from her collection. The volume comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$99Original Photograph With Significant Hollywood Connection
Rue was made the Honorary Mayor of Hollywood in the ’90s. Don’t you just love the enthusiasm and joy of the women near her? Anyway, the photographer who took the photo was George Hurrell’s last assistant, the photographer Richard Settle. Hurrell was the biggest Hollywood glamour photographer in history, and his long term assistant is an amazing photographer in his own right. We know for a fact that this photograph is “important” because it is an original print of Rue McClanahan that was personally owned by her, but we suspect it is “IMPORTANT” on a completely different level due to the historical significance of the man who shot the photo. Only time will tell…. Rue’s original photograph from the day she became Honorary Mayor comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$575Rue's Liz Claiborne Long-Billed Cap
Rue truly regretted all the sun damage she inflicted on her skin when she was a girl and young lady, and so she made certain to protect herself from the harmful rays of the sun as she aged. This Liz Claiborne cap was one of her protection tools because it has a super long bill. It had the added benefit of hiding her face when she wanted to run out for a quick errand and go around her Manhattan neighborhood unrecognized. Rue’s hat comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$175 NOW $87.50Rue's Origami Dollar Bill Ring
Rue didn’t need diamonds to make her happy. When a gentleman folded her this origami dollar bill ring she was thrilled. It remained in her jewelry box – among the diamonds, emeralds, rubies and other “fine jewelry” – for the rest of her life. Rue’s origami dollar bill ring is a size 7.5 and it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$175 NOW $87.50Model and Designs For Rue's Doll
At one point after she moved back to New York City, the plans were in the works for Rue to release her own doll. We aren’t sure if the company that made this particular doll was the company she was working with, or if she was just using this one as a template for her doll, but this is the piece Rue was creating off of. Inside the box we found Rue’s original sketches and notes for the wardrobe design for her own doll. Naturally, the outfits are all things Rue wore and had in her own closet. This doll measures 16″ tall and about 4″ wide. The doll will come with Rue’s original design sketches and measurement notes – perhaps you can sew and complete Rue’s ideas? – and also a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
