Featured ItemsRue's Swinging '60s Purple Hoop Earrings
Aren’t these cool? The earrings dangle a full 2.25″, and the hoops themselves are 1.25″ across and .50″ thick. These are just such quintessential ’60s earrings, right? They are made of some resin and, as you can see, are translucent so the light pours through and makes them glow. Rue’s swinging ’60s dangling hoops come with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$225 NOW $112.50The Last of Rue's "Eye" Pieces [SOLD]
Rue purchased four amazing pieces from a California ceramicist back in the ’80s; she loved these items and moved them from one house to the next until all four ended up in her Manhattan apartment. Although none of the pieces are signed with a name, they all have the “Eye Motif.” Rue’s son is keeping the huge naked woman platter, the cow bowl went to a fan in Chicago, we are delivering the enormous nymph bowl to a woman from Pennsylvania this weekend, and that leaves only one piece – the “Bone Plate.” This ceramic platter measures 17″ long by a foot wide; it is BIG. The piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. This is your last chance to own one of the pieces from Rue’s collection of this fun artist’s work. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$475Window Valance and/or Scarf [SOLD]
Rue wore this as a scarf and kept it in the closet with her scarves, and yet when we were measuring it (2′ x a rather lengthy 10′) we couldn’t help but wonder if it was a swag window valance that she had yanked down and wore, just like Scarlet O’Hare in that one movie. So, we’re offering it as a combo Window Valance/Scarf and we’ll send it along with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$99 NOW $49.50Original Photograph From Charity Campaign Rue Did With A Dear Friend
Can you believe that “dear friend” that Rue did this charity campaign with is Estelle Getty?! It doesn’t even look like her, does it? The hair and makeup team on “The Golden Girls” really did a great job making Estelle Getty look older than she really was. There is a rumor that has been circulating for decades that Estelle was the YOUNGEST one of “The Golden Girls,” but that is not true. In fact, Rue was the youngest of all the women, but 12 years, but Estelle WAS two months younger than Bea Arthur, who played her daughter “Dorothy,” so Rue always suspected that was how the rumor started. Trust me though, Rue was ALWAYS quick to correct people on that one! Anyway, here is an original 5″ x 7″ photograph that Rue owned from a charitable photo campaign she and Estelle did together. Those two really adored each other – all the girls loved Estelle – and you can see it in this photo, and you can see it in the final photo taken of the two of them together right before Estelle passed away; their’s was a friendship that lasted until the end. There were a few portraits with wardrobe and animal changes from this shoot, but this was the one used in the campaign. Rue’s original photograph with Estelle Getty comes with prints of the other photos posted a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
