"To Marge" 4" x 5" Photo Signed by Rue [SOLD]
We have no idea what Marge did to never receive her signed card, but we found this in Rue’s desk drawer and can pretty almost guarantee you won’t be able to find another like it in the world! This is old, too, probably from the ’70s. It has an original “Rue” signed on it and the interesting “To Marge” inscription. Do you know a Marge? Are you a Marge? Well, if so, we’ve found the perfect gift. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.

Rue's "Prompt Script" From "Nuncrackers" [On Hold]
Rue loved all the nun shows she made for and with Danny Goggin. It was a combination of the writing and the team; she really had a ball whenever she went to work on a Danny Goggin project. This is Rue’s original, 8.5″ x 11″, spiral bound “Prompt Script” from the show. The piece comes with prints of the photos posted and a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.

Signed Jazz Program From Event Rue and Bea Hosted [On Hold]
This piece probably won’t appeal to everyone, but to the fan of jazz, this piece is going to be AMAZING! First of all, how bizarre is it that Rue McClanahan and Bea Arthur hosted this jazz event at all? If you knew Rue though, you’d know she was a huge fan of jazz from the very beginning. She and her best friend, later her second husband, Norman, were jazz nuts. Rue’s son, Mark, is a jazz guitarist to this day. Can you see the paintings Rue had hanging around her Manhattan apartment? They are lots of jazz greats, and Rue didn’t buy those works of art, she had them commissioned directly from the artist! Anyway, this event had a lot of jazz greats in person, and many of them signed Rue’s program. And although she did not sign her name, we think that note on the back, which reads: “To My Dear Rue, Thank you!!!” was from Bea Arthur. Rue was the one that convinced her to do it, and Bea ended up having a fabulous time and falling hard for jazz. We haven’t found anything public about this event, either, so this is a rare document from what was certainly an unbelievable gathering of musical and acting talent. This originally signed piece of jazz and television history comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.

Gold Cowboy Hat [SOLD]
Rue wore this shiny golden cowboy hat in a movie she made in 1998 with Hal Holbrook entitled “Rusty – The Great Rescue.” Whatever fiber the hat is made of, they coated it with something to make it solid. It is lightweight and the wardrobe person sewed in a 1.5″ thick soft band so it is comfortable to wear. It measures 14.5″ in length with the opening being 7.75″. It is 12.75″ wide and stands 5.25″ high. This hat comes with a print of the picture of Rue and Hal from the film and a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.

Rue's Black And Gold Caftan [On Hold]
Oh, please don’t think that Rue McClanahan suffered from dandruff when you look at the shoulders of her black caftan, because it is absolutely not true, those white specks are actually plaster dust. You see, since we had already rented the space for Rue’s café, and since they hadn’t started on construction yet, we decided to use the space for this quarter’s photo shoots. Well, Julio, Rue’s handyman, was doing some core samples under the existing drywall in the space to see what was underneath – by the way, he found MARBLE SLABS(!) – anyway, when he dug into the plasterboard, a cloud of plaster dust settled on everything. Rue’s black and gold caftan was made by “Santé Classics,” it is a size “L,” it will be dusted before we send it to you, and it will come with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.

Rue's Amethyst and Crystal Necklace [On Hold]
Rue’s amethyst and bead necklace has a very substantial, expensive feeling to it. Although it is not marked, we suspect it was made by that jewelry designer Rue adored, the one whose name we do not know, but we find her initials – “A.R.” – all over pieces in Rue’s jewelry collection. This necklace has 16 diamond faceted rocks of amethyst that measure almost a half an inch across each, and the 32 smaller diamond shaped stones that bookend the larger ones may be amethyst too! The whole necklace is 32-inches long and it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
