Rue’s Set of Four International Silver American Bicentennial Bowls [SOLD]

Rue bought this set of four bowls over 35 years ago when she first started making a regular paycheck with “Maude.” They were put out as collector’s items for the American Bicentennial in 1976. Many people bought one of the different sizes available, but flush with “Maude” money, Rue bought the whole set. In descending order, their weight and sizes are as follows: 1 pound, 8.5 ounces, 4.5″ x 9″; 1 pound, 4.8 ounces, 4.25″ x 8″; 1 pound and 0.8 ounces, 4″ x 7″; and 7.9 ounces, 2.75″ x 5″. Like other items both collectible and valuable in Rue’s home, if it had a purpose, she would use it. You can see one of these bowls filled with nuts on the coffee table in the living room of her Manhattan apartment during a holiday get together. We’ll post the entire set as one lot and see if anyone wants all of them together, and if not, we’ll break it up and offer them individually. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
