Featured ItemsRue's "Prompt Script" From "Nuncrackers"
Rue loved all the nun shows she made for and with Danny Goggin. It was a combination of the writing and the team; she really had a ball whenever she went to work on a Danny Goggin project. This is Rue’s original, 8.5″ x 11″, spiral bound “Prompt Script” from the show. The piece comes with prints of the photos posted and a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$225Junk Jewelry Anklet [$14.14][SOLD]
This is definitely NOT real gold, and those are definitely NOT real pearls. We don’t know if this thing is made of recycled coffee cans and drops of Elmers glue or what, but we do know for sure, that for some unknown reason, Rue McClanahan owned this junk jewelry anklet. It was found in her collection in the master bedroom of her Manhattan apartment, and therefore it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue. Just get it out of here, okay?
$14.14Engraved Framed Photo from "The Women" - 2001 [DONATED]
Rue loved her role as Countess De Lage in the Broadway hit “The Women.” This original 5″ X 7″ black and white photo was shot on opening night. It was gifted to Rue by the show’s producers in an engraved silver metal 7.25″ x 9.25″ frame. Although it is a little scratched up from years of being handled in Rue’s apartment by just about everyone who walked through the door, the engraving is clear; it reads: “The Women November 8, 2001, Roundabout Theatre Company.” In the photo, in addition to other co-stars, you can see the two Jennifers behind Rue – Tilly and Coolidge. This is a piece of Broadway history here. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$250Rue's Carved Elephant Family
Rue grew up at a time when to be a “family” meant there was a husband, a wife, and at least one child. It took her many years and many marriages to give up on that fantasy and expand on her definition of what a family could be. Rue created a loving and supportive “chosen family” around her in the end; just like the girls did on “The Golden Girls.” Yet, she still would display the idea of the classic family she was hard-wired to believe in in various forms around her home. This little carved elephant group was one of those displays. The three pieces range in size from 2.25″ x 2.25″ inches for the “daddy” down to 1.75″ x 2″ for the “baby.” Rue’s carved wood elephant family comes with a Certificate of Authenticity form Estate of Rue.
$375Large Natural Brazilian Garnet [SOLD]
This rather substantial stone would make an excellent cocktail ring, solitaire necklace, pin, or single earring for those who wear them. Rue picked the gem up during a cruise along the Amazon river. It measures 3/8″ long and just short of that wide, and is about 1/4″ thick. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$150Portrait With Bob Hope From His Show
Rue and Bob Hope worked together when he did an episode of “The Golden Girls” in the late 1980s; Mr. Hope adored Rue and the feeling was mutual. Years later, in the mid ’90s, Mr. Hope asked Rue to appear on one of his television specials and, of course, she was thrilled to do so. This portrait was taken during that appearance. Trivia Fact #1 – Rue used this portrait in her memoir and the publisher’s tag is still on the back. Trivial Fact #2 – Rue was wearing a dress from a episode of “The Golden Girls” when she went on Mr. Hope’s show! This original 8″ x 10″ portrait comes with prints of the photos posted and a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
