It was not uncommon for Rue to purchase single glasses that she liked in antique stores. Although she owned matching sets of glasses, and often used modern flutes for champagne, Rue adored the old-fashioned, sorbet style champagne glasses – she just felt they were fun to drink out of, and we have to agree. Here are half a dozen of Rue’s mismatched glasses. Each of them is special all on its own and that’s why they came home with Rue. You can see a couple of them in the first photo posted in the upper right window of the hutch in Rue’s living room. You can also see all six of these glasses in the photo taken during the initial inventory, and those are Rue’s ashes wrapped in the boa right next to the glasses. These six glasses range in size from just over 2″ high to over 4″ high, and three of them are pressed glass and three crystal. They will all appear on the same Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
