Rue’s Vintage Embroidered Skirt [SOLD]

I’ve told this story before, but here we go again: my friend Rue McClanahan loved to play dress up and she loved to dress her friends up, too. Her closets were full of wigs, costumes, jewelry, and even various types of false teeth. One Halloween, I swung by her apartment to drop something off on my way to a Halloween party. I was wearing my normal uniform – Levis, a dress shirt, and a blue blazer with loafers – and Rue took one look and said, “Absolutely not!” Within minutes she had laid out this outlandish outfit for me to wear, and within a few more minutes she had convinced me to put it all on! Not only did I have a blast at the party that night, but getting ready with Rue was a real hoot as well. Anyway, I wore this skirt and can report that it is a work of art. This thing is all hand-embroidered and it is well-made. Even though Rue owned it for decades, it is still in great shape. I’m 6’1″, so that gives you some idea of how huge this thing is, too. Rue’s vintage embroidered skirt comes with a print of the photo of the two of us taken that special Halloween, and a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
