We don’t know if the beads and sequins were on there pieces when Rue bought them, or if she added them later. As you can see from the pins which still hold the straps in place, she did some work on the shell herself. This is a classic “casual red carpet” look for Rue. She preferred outfits like this because she could be comfortable and yet, as soon as the camera flashes hit her, she’d still look like a star. She wore this get up to the 1987 “People’s Choice Awards” and “The Golden Girls” won that night. In fact, we’ll include a copy of Rue’s Award with the outfit, a 4″ x 6″ print of the picture showing her wearing the pieces, and a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
