Featured ItemsMounted Early Interview Photo of Rue
Part of Rue’s job as a successful actress involved giving interviews to the press in order to promote the projects she was involved with. Rue’s name started to appear in the local newspaper when she was a girl, and she started to appear in articles that included reviews of her work by the time she was in college. However, when Rue got the role of Bea Arthur’s neighbor in “Maude” everything went to a whole new level and the national media started to pay attention to her – it was an exciting time in her life. Here is an 11″ x 14″ piece that has a mounted color photograph of Rue from an early interview. We think she looks very 1970s and chic with her cool sunglasses. This singular vintage piece from Rue’s personal professional memorabilia collection comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.

$375 NOW $187.50Junk Jewelry Anklet [$14.14][SOLD]
This is definitely NOT real gold, and those are definitely NOT real pearls. We don’t know if this thing is made of recycled coffee cans and drops of Elmers glue or what, but we do know for sure, that for some unknown reason, Rue McClanahan owned this junk jewelry anklet. It was found in her collection in the master bedroom of her Manhattan apartment, and therefore it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue. Just get it out of here, okay?
$14.14Rue's Little Pink Bowl
Rue’s little pink Depression Era glass bowl measures 4.75″ across and is 1.5″ high. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$175Rue's $1.69 Notebook That We Have Priced at $2,500 (WHAT!?)
We found this old notebook in a stack of Rue’s papers at the bottom of one of her file cabinets in the home office of her Manhattan apartment. The first thing we noticed is the coffee splatter marks on the cover and that let us know it was DEFINITELY Rue McClanahan’s! Before the old notebook hit the trashcan someone opened it up and just look at what was discovered – it is a treasure chest with over half a dozen of Rue’s “doodles” inside. If we had to assign levels to Rue’s “doodles” we’d have to say this notebook has a couple minor ones, a couple more that are pretty good examples of her work, and three that are unquestionably MAJOR! All the “doodles” are worthy of framing, even some of the little sketches in pencil, but that will be up to you. We were going to break the thing up and do the framing ourselves, but we decided to keep the piece intact, just as we found it. Rue’s “doodle” notebook comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$2,500 NOW $1,250Rue's Framed Vincent van Gogh Lithograph
This print is entitled “Cafe Terrace at Night” and it was painted by Vincent van Gogh. We have no idea what this framed print is worth. Rue bought it along with a Latrec lithograph at a gallery in Manhattan, but it is still just a print, right? Although the Latrec print, because it was signed, was recently valued at $6,000, so who knows? Anyway, this piece hung in the rental Rue moved into when she first moved back to Manhattan – she needed some art to cheer the place up and that was why she visited the gallery and bought the two pieces. Later, it went with her to both Manhattan apartments she owned and it hung in the main hallway of her final apartment until her death. The piece measures 32″ x 26.25″ and it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
