Featured ItemsRue Made Faux Fur Hat
Rue made this hat using a fluffy faux fur. The piece is lined with what appears to be off-white flannel. It is a fun piece that requires a certain character to pull off. Most of us look like a Cossack when we put it on, or like we ought to be leading a marching band, but somehow Rue always looked regal in the piece, like Joan Collins, and that is a talent! Rue’s fluffy faux fur hat comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$225 NOW $112.50Heritage Professional Barbeque Set - $79 [SOLD]
Rue had a big backyard in the middle of NYC – which is rarer then hen’s teeth – and she loved to have BBQ parties. Naturally, she bought her tools at Brookstone – only the best for Rue – but she never went to the trouble of digging them out of the garden shed and using them. Instead, Rue would cook using a fork or some restaurant-style tongs that were readily accessible from the kitchen. As a result, this 11-piece “Heritage Professional Barbeque Set” is like new. Just think how cool you’ll be cooking out this summer when someone comments on your beautiful tools and you get to tell them exactly whose tools your flipping burgers with! This set comes in the original box with a Certificate of Authenticity from The Estate of Rue McClanahan.
$79"Wicked" Signed Cookbook and Signed Playbill with Publicity Card - $79 [SOLD]
While Rue was playing Madame Morrible in the hit Broadway Musical “Wicked,” the cast and crew released a second edition of their charitable cookbook. Rue included a questionable recipe from her Aunt Wenonah that actually involves pouring a can of 7-Up into a baking dish with dough! We made it, and guess what? It is delicious! Anyway, the cookbook is signed by Rue and we’ll include an original signed playbill and publicity card, too. It measures 5.75″ x 8.5″, is 131 pages long, and contains over 65 recipes. Comes with a 4″ x 6″ print of Rue on stage with Ben Vereen as The Wizard – just because we love that picture – and a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$79.00Original Photograph From Charity Campaign Rue Did With A Dear Friend
Can you believe that “dear friend” that Rue did this charity campaign with is Estelle Getty?! It doesn’t even look like her, does it? The hair and makeup team on “The Golden Girls” really did a great job making Estelle Getty look older than she really was. There is a rumor that has been circulating for decades that Estelle was the YOUNGEST one of “The Golden Girls,” but that is not true. In fact, Rue was the youngest of all the women, but 12 years, but Estelle WAS two months younger than Bea Arthur, who played her daughter “Dorothy,” so Rue always suspected that was how the rumor started. Trust me though, Rue was ALWAYS quick to correct people on that one! Anyway, here is an original 5″ x 7″ photograph that Rue owned from a charitable photo campaign she and Estelle did together. Those two really adored each other – all the girls loved Estelle – and you can see it in this photo, and you can see it in the final photo taken of the two of them together right before Estelle passed away; their’s was a friendship that lasted until the end. There were a few portraits with wardrobe and animal changes from this shoot, but this was the one used in the campaign. Rue’s original photograph with Estelle Getty comes with prints of the other photos posted a Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
$675Original Signed 8" x 10" Head Shot [SOLD]
When Rue signed head shots, if she didn’t like the way her signature turned out, she’d shove it in a drawer, or a book, a magazine, a script, under a couch cushion, etc… We thought we had found the last of them, but we recently came across a couple more in a box of office supplies. Here is one of them. We think the signature looks great, but perhaps she didn’t like all the squiggles she put around her name. Anyway, here it is, one of the last 8″ x 10″ original signed head shots we have. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
$275Rue's Fossil "Coasters" (*UPDATE)
Rue usually kept these flat fossils on her coffee table and used them as coasters. We don’t think they actually ARE coasters – we think they are rare, highly collectible FOSSILS! However, that is what Rue used them for; and we could be mistaken, maybe someone out there is selling fossils as sets of coasters(!). Certainly there are pictures in Rue’s archive that show these pieces on Rue’s coffee table – and probably with Rue in the shot, too – so we’ll look around and post any photos we can find later. Rue’s pair of fossil “coasters” measure about 4″ across each, and they will appear together on the same Certificate of Authenticity from Estate of Rue.
*UPDATE – I found a photograph of Me and Rue gabbing in the living room and you can see both of these “coasters” on the coffee table. One is clearly showing and she has her water glass on the other.
