If you’ve looked at photos of Rue online from her personal life, and have ever watched “The Golden Girls,” you’ve probably noticed that Rue loved to wear shells under sweaters, coats and other outerwear in both her personal and professional life – she died with over 100 of them in her closet! We’re selling them in pairs now, and in this group we have a Gene Ewing size M and a Calvin Klein 2X. Rue would sometimes “flouse up” things she bought off the rack and we think that is just what she did with the striped number. Clearly the rows of sequins and beads were not manufactured with the shirt. Also, she had gussets put in on the sides when the shirt became a little snug. She wore the top a lot and so it is worn. The Calvin Klein, on the other hand, is in excellent shape, just like new. Both tops will appear on one Certificate of Authenticity. We’ll include a print of Rue wearing the striped shirt while visiting her childhood friend Skipper.
